Progressive Achievement Tests – Spelling
Next week, Years 7 to 10 students will complete their Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) in Spelling. The PAT Spelling test is a standardised assessment that helps track students' development over time and identify areas needing support.
Year 7 – Wednesday 3 September, Period 1
Year 8 – Thursday 4 September, Period 1
Year 9 – Thursday 4 September, Period 4
Year 10 – Friday 5 September, Period 2
The PAT spelling assessment is a 20-minute test that:
· assesses knowledge of spelling and skills in identifying and correcting spelling errors.
· asks students to correct spelling errors in a written sentence.
· contains multiple-choice questions and typing of correct spelling.
All PAT spelling tests will be held in B-block, and students will complete the test on their own device. Students are required to bring their usual lesson equipment, as normal classes will continue once the test is finished.
Year 11 Examinations
The Year 11 Examinations will be held in weeks 8 and 9. Students should prepare for their examinations by revising the year's work and other study material set by their class teacher. If students have questions regarding their exams, they are encouraged to talk to their class teachers. Good luck with your preparation, Year 11.

Year 11 and 12 Student Absences for Semester Reports
As we approach the end of Semester 2 for Year 11 and 12, I would like to remind parents about completing their child's absence reasons. Explaining absences ensures your child’s attendance records are accurate and reported correctly.
To complete your child's absence reports:
1. Log in to your Sentral Parent Portal.
2. Navigate to the Absences section.
3. Review your unexplained absences and provide a brief explanation for each.
Parents can review their child’s attendance records by selecting their child's profile and navigating to Attendance.
