Sports News

On May 19 our U14 and Opens boys were finally able to play in the local Country Cup gala day after it was postponed in Term 1.
The U14 boys faced a tough Moruya outfit first up and learnt very quickly the importance of ball security and good defence. Their second game against Batemans Bay was a much improved performance. While the game was there to be won and errors cost the final result, the boys dug deep for the entire game and put in their best effort.
The Opens boys faced Batemans Bay in both their games and while they begun the first game with the fumbles, CCB’s eldest players pulled themselves together and play some excellent football. After winning the first game in a tight one, they ran away with the second game to prove the dominant team on the day.
Overall our boys played the game it is meant to be played: tough, fair, skilfully and with excellent sportsmanship. They were a credit to Carroll College and should be proud of their efforts! A thank you to Mr Jon Brady for coming along and helping with our teams on the day. We look forward to the U16s and the Girls League Tag in the near future. Dates are still to be confirmed by the NRL.”
