Students in Years 7 and 9 are currently part way through the annual NAPLAN testing. Each year group sit four short tests that cover their ability in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy. We encourage all students to do their best in these tests as we use our results to assess our current teaching programs. Results are released later in the year when each student will receive a written report about their achievement.

The rest of the College are well settled into the routine of the term. Looking at each year group’s assessment calendars, many tasks are becoming due in the next few weeks. Please speak with your student and see how they are going with these tasks and that they are planning their time well.

The Year 12 HSC Trial Examination timetable is attached for your viewing. Please ensure your Year 12 student is planning their study routine now so that they can demonstrate their learning in these very important exams. These exams usually contribute a very large percentage of a student’s assessment mark, so doing well in them will ensure a good school assessment mark. The school assessment mark contributes 50% of a student’s final HSC mark. Also attached is a draft study timetable that I have spoken to Year 12 about. They can use it to better concentrate their study efforts.
