University Admissions Centre (UAC) Presents at Carroll

Representatives from UAC visited Carroll College on the 4 May to talk to Year 10, 11 and 12 students. Year 10 were presented with information about what the ATAR is, what does scaling mean and how to choose subjects for their future pathway.

Year 11 and 12 ATAR pathway students were given reminders about the purpose of the ATAR and HSC. HSC is the performance of the individual which they have the most control over and the ATAR is the position of the student in relation to all other students in the Year 12 cohort. This helps to understand the difference that is normally found between the students HSC results and the ATAR achieved.

Students in Yr 12 were reminded to collect their UAC guide and Yr 11 students were also encouraged to take a copy to start getting familiar with course options and requirements.

The UAC application key dates were discussed along with Equity Scholarship applications, Schools Recommendation Schemes (early entry options for 13 universities) applications and the Educational access scheme application.
