It has been another interesting start to the term and because of this we have postponed our NAIDOC celebrations until term 4. We look forward to celebrating this important event on our calendar with everyone then. This term will see the first day of the Gurumbanga Indigenous Mentoring program, to assist students from Years 5 and 6 to transition to secondary school. This program is open to students from any primary school, so if you are interested or know of anyone that may be interested please contact Mrs Katuke or Mrs Davis. 

At the end of last term during Dhurga our students explored a cultural display featuring stone tools, possum skins and drum, grass baskets plus much more. Students were encouraged to examine the cultural items that captivated their interest. And congratulations to Trish along with Kerry and Waine on the publication of their Dhurga dictionary. 

We are in the process of selecting a new Indigenous leader for 2021 with Year 11 students currently applying for the role. We look forward to sharing who will be our next Indigenous captain with you soon. Year 10 will also be selecting their subjects for Year 11 over the coming weeks. They will be undergoing course counselling with a KLA leader to ensure that their selections are catering for their future pathways.
