Curriculum News

Our students have settled back well after the recent holidays, despite the issues around the latest COVID outbreak and the torrential downpours! It is very important that students who have not returned due to concerns over COVID keep in regular contact with their teachers and complete work set in their google classrooms. Hopefully, we will see everyone back next week.

Our Year 12 students will begin their Trail Exams in Week 5. These exams carry significant weighting towards their final HSC result, so the students should be putting in the extra hard yards now and ramping up the amount of study they are doing if they want to achieve the best possible results.

Year 11 students are working on their final term of the Preliminary Courses. In weeks 9 and 10 of this term, they will be sitting their exams. Students should have already begun to revise Term 1 and 2 work and be completing unit summaries.

Students in Years 7-10 have settled back into the routine very well after the holidays. Classes are getting stuck into their work and there is a studious air about the College. Assessment tasks will soon be being issued and it is imperative that students get started on them as soon as they receive them, and not leave them to the last minute. Ask your students to set some learning goals for the semester and some shorter-term goals to achieve along the way and help them be successful at the end of the year.

All students in Years 8-10 have recently been spoken to about their subject selections for next year. Students in Years 8 & 9 will be selecting TWO electives and students in Year 10 will be selecting all their courses for Year 11. Students will receive an email to their school email address with login details for our online subject selection portal. Please check with your child that they have received this email and that they complete the subject selections before the due date.
