Wellbeing Coordinator News
We began Term 4 with a powerful leadership experience, bringing together our Student Leadership Team (SLT) and Student Representative Council (SRC) for the Maximising the Badge program, facilitated by yLEAD.This session encouraged our student leaders to reflect on what it truly means to wear the badge — not just as a symbol, but as a commitment to character, collaboration, and legacy. Students explored the idea that leadership is about who you are and what you do, and that you get to decide your legacy.
Through brainstorming and discussion, students identified the values they stand for as leaders in our college community, including:
Kindness, Respect, Faith, Compassion, Justice, Loyalty, Inclusivity, Equality, Integrity, Humility, Safety, Care for the Environment, Embracing First Nations perspectives, and Learning for Life.
They also shared what makes our college culture strong — the moments and experiences that bring us together and make CCB Broulee feel like home:
-
We gather for extended homerooms, Carroll Day, and Patrons' Day
-
We see friendly participation in carnivals and events
-
We celebrate through bake sales, fundraisers, and Hub happenings
-
We come together for morning prayer, school assemblies, and combined schools Mass
-
We celebrate our successful athletes and enjoy beach days in Term 1 and 4, DOOF, and Urban Challenge
-
We show respect — to each other, to our teachers, and to our environment
-
We embrace opportunities for learning, inclusion, and celebration.
As part of the session, students also shared creative ideas for new initiatives — from inter-year activities and clubs to ways of celebrating diverse interests and cultures. These conversations reflect a shared commitment to working together to strengthen what makes our school community so vibrant and inclusive.
It was a successful day and I am so proud of all our student leaders. During Week 2, the SLT ventured to Canberra to participate in a training trip called ‘CCB LeadForward’. The leaders participated in team building activities at Riddle Room in Mitchell followed by a twilight session on understanding their role as captains at CCB.
On Friday, students attended a walk around Old Parliament House as a viewing of ‘leadership’ in history and this led into our Leadership Forum at St Clare’s College in Griffith. The forum involved the leaders engaging in meaningful conversation with captains from St Francis Xavier and St Clare’s, learning and listening to ways they can bring initiatives and perform their important roles at CCB.
