TVET 2026 – Expressions of Interest Open for Year 11 & 12

Expressions of Interest are now open for students entering Year 11 or 12 in 2026 who are considering enrolling in a TVET (TAFE-delivered Vocational Education and Training) course.

TVET provides an opportunity to:

• Work towards a nationally recognised qualification
• Gain credit towards your HSC
• Develop practical skills in areas such as hospitality, trades, health, IT, and more

Courses are delivered off campus, at Moruya TAFE or TAFE Digital. Students and families are encouraged to speak with the Careers Adviser to learn more and discuss suitability.

TVET COURSE - CERTIFICATE III IN HEALTH SERVICES ASSISTANCE (ASSISTING IN NURSING WORK IN ACUTE CARE

Moruya TAFE is offering Health Services Assistant HLT33115 for TVET in 2026.  If you are passionate about healthcare in our community and want to play a key role in supporting front-line healthcare workers, the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work Acute Care) could lead you to a rewarding career.

Information session links and times are attached and mandatory for the application process. Students must attend one of the team’s information sessions to begin the application process. 

Dates for an MS Teams Information session are:   

• Wednesday 10th September 2025 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm
• Thursday 11th September 2025 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm

UOW Nursing and Health Careers Workshop

The UOW Careers Workshop for Nursing and Health was an engaging and informative event that brought together industry professionals, current nursing students, and those exploring pathways into the health sector. Last Friday, students gained valuable insights into career opportunities, professional expectations, and the diverse roles available within healthcare. 

A highlight of the session was reconnecting with former students Sophie McAteer and Autumn Rankin, who are both completing their nursing degrees at the UOW Batemans Bay campus. It is an inspiring reminder of the local pathways available for students who are aspiring healthcare professionals.

UOW EmpowerHER STEM Summit Junior Year 7, 8 & 9

Students will explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) at UOW's Wollongong Campus enjoying interactive activities, and a Bluescope Steel site tour alongside faculty, current students, and local industry representatives

Moruya Rotary Youth Scholarship 2025

The Moruya Rotary Youth Scholarship is intended to assist eligible students, particularly those who would have financial difficulties, to continue their post-school education. In assessing students, financial need, demonstrated application, and likelihood of success in the chosen studies are considered. The value of each scholarship will be determined by the Moruya Rotary Club.

Eligibility criteria: Applicants for the scholarships must live in the area defined by Tomago River in the North and Tuross River in the South. Applicants should be in their final year of secondary studies, year 12 or equivalent, and attend a high school in the defined area, e.g. Moruya High, Carroll College, or St Peters College. Applicants must be planning to commence tertiary studies in 2026.

Australian Catholic University (ACU)

Australian Catholic University - Early offer program

The ACU Guarantee program offers Year 12 students (Australian citizens or permanent residents) a place at ACU based on Year 11 results. It is specially designed to reflect achievements in your whole life, not only your academic results.

Offers may be made as early as September. Of course, you must still complete your Year 12 exams and meet any course pre-requisites, but you can do so secure in the knowledge that you have an offer to study at ACU. You may also enhance your application by including short personal statements that give ACU an insight into your personal circumstances and motivation for university study.

APPT Scholarship - Secondary Teaching at ACU

All Points to Teaching (APTT) is an employment-based pathway to teaching program where students will be granted a fully funded scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Bachelor of Education (Secondary and Special Education), or a Master of Teaching (Secondary) while simultaneously working in schools across New South Wales.

Applications are encouraged from:

• recent school leavers, or graduates, interested in teaching in an innovative, supported community-based model
• school administrative and support staff interested in becoming a teacher within their communities
• individuals looking for a career change
• individuals from low SES backgrounds
• individuals from rural, regional or remote communities
• first in family to attend university
