Sport News
It has been another busy few weeks for sport at CCB! Students have been participating in League Tag, our Annual Snow Excursion, Archdiocesan Athletics and students have been busy training for Archdiocesan Basketball, Netball and State Cup Touch Football.
Kezie Apps League Tag -
On Tuesday the 12 August, five of our Carroll College girls’ league tag teams, from Years 7- 10, travelled to Hanging Rock, Batemans Bay to take part in the annual Eurobodalla Kezie Apps League Tag Day.
We proudly fielded two Under 14s teams and three Under 16s teams. Across the board, our players represented Carroll College with outstanding team spirit, teamwork, and inclusion.
In the Under 14s, the Carroll College Bears had a truly fabulous day - going undefeated and remarkably not having a single try scored against them all day. In the Under 16s age group, the Carroll College Cowboys impressed as well, finishing with four wins and only one narrow loss.
A very special thank you goes to our sports coaches - Kobi, Jordyn, Sebastian, Harry, Aidan and Tarlaya. Their leadership, organisation and enthusiasm were clear to see, from running warm-ups and coaching from the sidelines, through to managing substitutions throughout the day. We would also like to thank our teachers, Mrs McAsh, Mrs Nicholson and Miss Johnston, for taking the teams on the day, and to Miss Large for her work in organising the event.
A big congratulations to our teams for their achievements on the field, their support of one another, and for carrying themselves as excellent representatives of Carroll College.

Snow Trip
During Week 5, 40 CCB students attended our annual snow trip to Thredbo.
To start, we’ve created an acronym using the word THREDBO to describe our experience:
T – Thrilling runs down the slopes
H – High energy and excitement every day
R – Resilience, as we all faced a few tumbles but kept getting back up
E – Epic scenery that made every moment unforgettable
D – Determination to master skiing or snowboarding
B – Berridale, our home away from home for the trip
O – Outstanding effort from everyone to learn and improve.
Our trip began on Wednesday afternoon when we left school and headed to Berridale, with a quick stop at Brown Mountain lookout. When we arrived at the lodge, we settled in, had dinner, and then prepared for the snow by getting all our gear ready – helmets, skis or snowboards, jackets, and everything else we’d need for the slopes.
On Thursday, we headed into Thredbo for the first time. The views were incredible, and the atmosphere on the bus was full of excitement. When we arrived, some students tried skiing for the first time while others went snowboarding, and by the end of the two days everyone had grown so much in confidence.
Thursday was great because we didn’t have to wake up too early – our first lesson didn’t start until 10:30am, so we had time for a big breakfast and to get ready. After the lesson, we had the rest of the day to ski or snowboard and practise what we learned. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted, so we turned in early and watched the NRL game before bed.
On Friday, we had some free time in the morning to explore and practise before our second lesson later in the day. Everyone kept improving, and by the end, we were all much more comfortable on the snow.
Back at the lodge in Berridale, we ate like champions! There was plenty of food to keep us fueled up, and on the slopes, many of us couldn’t resist grabbing hot coffee and donuts to warm up and recharge.
On the way home, we made the traditional stop at Cooma Macca’s and KFC for one last feed before the trip back.
Overall, the students had a great trip and many will look forward to returning next year!
Finally, we’d like to give a big thank you to Mr Fogarty, Mr Coates, Mrs Enfield, Mr Nebelung, Ms Wignell, Mrs Jamieson and Mrs McAsh for organising and looking after us throughout the trip.
We are sure many students are looking forward to the trip next year!
Thank you - Mrs Jamieson.
