We are now at the end of Week 4 - and what a busy start it has been. Week 4 has focused on ‘Bullying No Way! Week’.
The following information is taken directly from the website (https://bullyingnoway.gov.au/preventing-bullying/national-week-of-action):
The theme for 2025 is 'Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.'
It takes courage to spark change.
Bullying is everyone's responsibility. It takes a community to be brave and address bullying behaviours, within and beyond the school gate.
Students can be bold, kind and take a stand to support others being bullied. While parents and teachers are there to support children and young people learn how to behave in a positive way.
In our community and in our school, we want a place where everyone can belong, a place that celebrates everyone, and where bullying is never accepted.
This Bullying No Way Week, we're asking students, schools, families and communities to be bold and say something, be kind and support someone, and be proud to take a stand against bullying.
Bullying doesn’t always look like fists or insults. Sometimes it’s the quiet stuff — the exclusion, the fake smiles, the DMs left on "seen." At CCB this week, students engaged in activities during Homeroom to empower them about ‘being bold, being kind and speaking up'.
Our SRC students led a whole-school visual campaign to promote the key messages: Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up during Academic Care with students in Years 7 - 9. The idea is to create a powerful visual display that shows our students united against bullying, using body language, photography, and the key anti-bullying messages. To do this, SRC students in Years 7-9 took photos of the hands of students with the key messages (Be bold, Be kind, Speak up) written in black texta. This was driven by Sophie Barling who assisted in leading the students to create and make a pledge to Being Bold, Being Kind and Speaking Up.

Therefore, this Bullying, No Way! Week, we’re being asked not just to “say no” to bullying — but to do something much harder and more powerful: Speak up, step in, and stand beside someone who needs it.
We look forward to Week 5 - ‘Book an Adventure’ theme for Book Week and seeing the participation in the activities on offer throughout the week, such as the Cake Making competition and the Dress Up Parade that is on Friday at AM break with the winners having a variety of prizes to choose from.
