Dear CCB Community,
Can you believe the term is already wrapped up? It's been a busy few months, and I just wanted to take a moment to check in and remind you all to take some time for yourself as we head into the break.
As we all know, the end of term can be stressful, but it's also a great time to pause and reflect on everything you've achieved. Whether you've nailed that big project, managed to stay on top of your work, or simply made it through with a smile, give yourself a little credit!
Here are a few tips to recharge over the holidays:
  • Unplug for a bit: If you’ve been glued to screens all term, try to take a break and enjoy some tech-free time.

  • Get outside: A walk in the fresh air can work wonders for clearing your head.

  • Connect with loved ones: Quality time with friends and family (or even just a good chat) can be so uplifting.

  • Practice self-care: Read that book you’ve been meaning to pick up, try a new hobby, or just relax and catch up on sleep.

Term 1 has been so eventful in the Wellbeing space. We had lots of exciting events around the college, ranging from Valentines Day to the Year 7/11 Camp and finally our Easter SLT activities. The SLT are about to move into their final two terms as leaders and I want to thank them for their incredible work within the community. Here are their favourite memories of Term 1:

Kira Pendlebury: My favourite memory from this term was the swimming carnival, and being able to lead my house for my last year!

Angus Blythe: My favourite memory from this term would be the Senior Retreat. I got to spend a few amazing days with my peers and climb Mount Kosciuszko which is something I've never done before!

Robert Slockee: My favourite activity from this term would be the swimming carnival, it was fun being able to dress up.

Archie Cockram: The thing that I enjoyed most was the 'Harmony Week' multicultural bake sale, it was wonderful to experience all of the unique cultures.

Josh Ngyuen: My favourite thing about Term 1 was The Colour Run because it was fun to get splashed with colours.

Emily Borg: One stand out memory would be our final swimming carnival. All members of the SLT and our Year 12 cohort assisting the house captains and competing in races. Encouraging one another, cheering for our teams and having fun!! Definitely a very memorable experience.

Brooklyn Briggs: My favourite memory about this term has been the bake off. I enjoy volunteering to help others.

Will Grant: The Colour Run was so much fun—great energy, bright colors, and an awesome time!

Keira Sharp: One of my favourite memories of Term 1 would have to be the swimming carnival, as it was my final one, and also because Mackillop came out on top and won!

Erin Drewsen: It would be the 'Harmony Day' cultural celebrations as I felt they did an excellent job of bringing the college community together as a whole.

Akin Suksing: My favourite memory from Term 1 was the Art excursion. It was my favourite memory because it gave me an opportunity to socialise with my friends and meet new people in Sydney. It was also especially interesting due to being able to see the famous art works.

Marissa McDonald: My favourite memory of Term 1 would have to be the enior Retreat, specifically the water slide.

Kehlei Cowan: This term I enjoyed it so much, my favourite overall was definitely the Colour Run and Senior Retreat. Both events are memories I’ll keep forever!!

Savannah McGann: The harmony day bake sale!

I really enjoyed attending the Year 7 and 11 Peer Support Camp however, one of my favourite moments this term was the Colour Run on Patron’s Day in Week 4. It was so fun seeing everyone engage in something new and the senior students creating memories for them to keep! We look forward to another busy term in Term 2 - with the Carroll Day Carnival, the DOOF and many more events ahead.

Take care and enjoy the break!
