Organising Your Home Screen on your phone...
What does your phone screen look like? Take the time to review what it looks like and how much you use social media. If you organise what it looks like you can take control of the amount of time you use social media. Put all of your social media apps into a folder or remove them altogether from your home screen. This may help reduce the time you spend on social media.
R U OK? Day
On Thursday 12 September, the college participated in a number of activities to acknowledge the importance of R U OK? Day. R U OK? Day is our National Day of Action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, 'Are you OK?' and support those struggling with life's ups and downs.
The staff were invited to wear a piece of yellow clothing and together we united to support this important day. During AM break, Maggie Aylmore from Headspace Batemans Bay attended and she presented a number of games and goodies to the students. The ‘Wheel of Wellness’ was really popular and it was great to see so many students engaged and interacting with Maggie. Amongst the crowd, students were able to do some colouring in or word puzzles from the website and outside the HUB we had students face painting yellow smiley faces. SLT and SRC members used chalk to write powerful messages on the concrete and Ms Paull took photos of staff and students with the creative photobooth frame designed by our very own Mrs Croese.
We also had a PowerPoint with videos being viewed in the HUB and the slides took students through the signs that someone might be struggling and the four steps of an R U OK? Conversation.
Overall it was a successful event at the College and we are proud to support mental health awareness in our community.
