Principal's Welcome
Dear Parents, Students and Friends
As I write this week’s newsletter, I have just returned from the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) ‘Hamilton’ excursion with our students who have a passion for Performing Arts and the Entertainment industry. It was an exceptional experience and one that has inspired and left us in awe of the creative capacity of those involved in theatre production, audio engineering and music. Thank you to Mrs Maher, Mrs Lomax, Mr King and Mrs Waters for their organisation and support of the students. It was an absolute pleasure to be away with these students who were wonderful ambassadors for the college and displayed respect and gratitude for the opportunity. Well done to all!

Enrolling Now for 2025
The enrolment process for 2025 is well underway, particularly for Year 6 students transitioning to Carroll College for Year 7 next year. We still have a few available spaces for Year 7, 2025 and other grade levels. Please encourage family members and friends to act soon if they would like to secure a position for their child/ren. I am meeting with families currently and it is such an enjoyable experience to learn more about the children enrolling in the college for 2025. All families are welcome! I am very open to personally meeting with families if they are simply enquiring about Carroll College and would like to learn more. Please email Nadine.cooper@cg.catholic.edu.au to make an appointment.

Commissioning Ceremony for new Student Leadership Team (SLT)
We will gather as a college community on Monday 9 September to commission our new Year 12 leaders. It is a privilege to work alongside these young people as they grow in confidence and develop leadership skills that will equip them for life beyond school. Our new leaders have demonstrated qualities of dedication, integrity, and a passion for making a positive difference. They have already shown their potential to inspire, guide, and support their peers. As they take on their roles, they inherit a legacy of leadership that has been carefully nurtured and built upon by those who have come before them. More information will follow in our next newsletter when I thank our outgoing SLT when they hand over their positions to the newly elected Student Leadership Team in the coming fortnight.
Jack Newton Junior Golf
Congratulations to Sophie, Bill and Bronte Eppelstun who have all triumphed at the South Coast Junior Masters held at the Catalina Club last weekend. This tournament was run by Jack Newton Junior Golf and attracted 120 talented junior golfers with handicaps as low as PLUS 6 (that’s 6 under par). Bill won the Boys Overall Title by 2 shots. He enjoyed a bogey free first round and was the only player to go under par for both rounds (-4, -1). Sophie recorded a bogey free, home course personal best of -5 to come from behind and win by 4 shots. This is her third Jack Newton title this year, adding to her newly acquired NSW Country Girls Championship honour which she won at the NSW Junior Championships in Sydney over the July school holidays. Bronte also had a personal best finish of 4th overall with a strong + 3 second round. She won an age group trophy for her efforts and is keen to try and win the big one next year!
This was the first time in JNJG history that siblings have won the same masters level event. Go the Eppelstun family!
SENIOR SNOW TRIP
Last week saw our senior skiers and snowboarders take to the mountains for the annual snow trip. This experience carries with it a high level of responsibility for staff. Due to the nature of the sport and high risk environment, staff accompanying students are very experienced skiers/snowboarders and I thank them sincerely for their expert care. Thank you to Mr Coates, Mr Fogarty, Mrs Smith, Mr Graziani and Mrs Graziani.
A Prayer for Father’s Day
Gracious God,
bless fathers and all father figures
with such love and faithfulness that children
flourish and grow in uprightness and joy.
Bless those who long to be fathers and those for
whom this day is difficult. Amen.
Enjoy a special weekend. Blessings on your home and family.
With respect and encouragement to you.
