Student Leadership Team

Thank you to all the Year 11 students who participated in the nomination process to select the Student Leadership Team for 2025. From these nominees we now have a leadership group that, not only have a vision for the college, but also the support of their peers and the staff.

Eurobodalla Youth Committee

Chloe Tyrrell from Year 12 has been a representative on this committee for several years.  On behalf of the college I would like to thank her for the valuable contribution she has made to being a voice for youth across the region.

Malachi Condon, Ruby Hodgetts, Erica Shalders and Elsie Hanns have shown an ongoing commitment throughout the year to supporting the activities of the Eurobodalla Youth Advisory Committee.

We are very excited to report that Erica and Elsie have been selected to be part of the five member team to attend the NSW Youth Council Conference in Sydney from Friday 11 October – Sunday 13 October 2024. This is a unique conference where youth advisory representatives from different Council areas attend and have their say on issues including multiculturalism, mental health, leadership and advocacy, disability, the environment and more. A very exciting opportunity for students voice to be heard.

Farewell Events for Year 12, 2024

In the coming weeks, we will be farewelling our Year 12 students.  This is a very significant time for the College as we celebrate their contribution to our community and wish them every success in the future.  The events we have planned offer a variety of ways for the students, staff and families to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our Year 12’s.

Our celebrations are outlined below and occur across Term 3, Week 10.

Monday 23 September - students are invited to attend the Year 12 BBQ breakfast hosted by the College and prepared by staff and the Year 11 Hospitality students.

Tuesday 24 September - Year 12 students and their families will attend the Graduation Mass at St Bernard’s Church in Batemans Bay.

Wednesday 25 September students will attend their last two formal classes followed by an assembly, farewell Guard of Honour and lunch.

Wednesday 13 November – the Year 12 Graduation Dinner will be held at Bay Pavilions.

Parent /Carer Conversation

Parenting young people can be a very rewarding experience but at times it can be challenging.  It would be appreciated if all parents could have a conversation with their child/children reminding them of expectations around behaviour at school, in public and whilst travelling on public transport. As a college, we expect that while students are in the college uniform, they display exemplary behaviour and uphold the college values and code of conduct.

All students are required to wear their college uniform each day and are to follow the college uniform policy.

The only day(s) students are allowed to wear their sports uniform is when they have a PE practical class. Staff are aware of these days and will issue a detention for students in the wrong uniform and contact home will be made.

Please use the parent portal on Compass to check your child's timetable so you are aware of the correct day(s) for the wearing of the sports uniform.

Reminder

If you need to contact your child during the school day, can you please do this via the Front Office. Messages will be passed on during break times. If for any reason you need to collect your child again, please contact the college on 44715600 to make arrangements prior to your arrival so our exit procedures are completed without delay or email ccb.messages@cg.catholic.edu

For handwritten notes, parents are reminded that these need to be dated and signed by the parents or carer.

If a student has a medical certificate with a definite end date it is a legal requirement that they not be at school until that time has lapsed. If students are well enough to return before this date then a new certificate or letter from the Doctor stating this new return date will need to be supplied.

Parents are reminded that you are welcome to contact your child’s House Coordinator if you would like to share or discuss any issues related to your child’s wellbeing.

Kind regards,

Mrs Louise Ibbett
