Archdiocesean Soccer

The Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Open boys football (soccer) team competed against teams from Wagga and Bathurst Diocese as part of the trials for the Southern Country team to compete at the NSWCCC Football Championships in May.

Carroll College was well represented by the following students: Charlie Samsa, Hugh Wignell, Oscar Bruce, Tyler Cooper, Josh Smart, Jack Hewison and Michael Aitken. The boys played brilliantly to come away with two convincing wins. Hugh Wignell, Tyler Cooper, Josh Smart and Michael Aitken were all selected in the possible V probables game.

Congratulations to Tyler Cooper on being selected for the Southern Country team!

Basketball report

Students enjoyed a great day in Tuggeranong on Tuesday 26 March with our 6 teams representing the College with pride, fair play and a great deal of enthusiasm!

We may not have come home with trophies this time around but to see the excitement and team spirit from all was great.

A huge thank you goes to all of the staff for their hard work, having volunteered to train the teams over several morning break times and to accompany them and coach on the day.

Western Rugby League U15 and Open Trials

Jacob Borg, Mitchell Zutt, Cameron Paull, Will Grant, Ryan Johnston and Kodi Perkins represented the college this week at the Greater Western Rugby League trials in Forbes. Although none of the boys were selected, they represented the college with admirable sportsmanship and pride.

NSWCCC Swimming Championships

On Thursday 4 April, Michaela Fitzpatrick, Jake Price and Evie Gwynne represented both the college and the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn at the NSWCCC Swimming Championships.

Michaela competed in 5 events in the 15 years age category and achieved the following:

50m breaststroke - 7th

100m breaststroke - 8th

100m butterfly - 8th

50m butterfly - 11th

200m IM - 10th

Jake competed in the 12/13 years 100m breaststroke and came 8th.

Evie competed in the 12 years 50m breaststroke and came 13th.

A fantastic result from these students. Well done!

Eurobodalla Netball Cup

We had a number of teams play in the Eurobodalla Netball Cup at Broulee Netball courts on Thursday 4 April.

Despite the conditions on the day, our students had a fantastic day!

While none of our teams made it through to the next level they all played really well and enjoyed the day.
