Motorcycle Awareness Month is Here!
Motorcyclists are overrepresented in NSW road trauma. In 2021, Motorcyclists accounted for 21% of road fatalities, while motorcyclists only represented 10% of active licence holders in NSW.
Motorcycle and scooter riders face more risks on our roads as they are less protected than other road users.
Transport for NSW’s motorcycle safety program aims to increase rider safety and reduce rider road trauma by promoting compliance with road rules and safe riding practices, and by encouraging drivers to safely share the road with riders. Rules, riding technique and how to cope with hazards can all be found in the Motorcycle Riders Handbook.
