Photography Profile
At Carroll College, we offer Photography as a single subject in Year 11 and Year 12.
Throughout the Visual Arts Department in Years 7-10 we are able to introduce the students to the wonderful world of photography, both analogue and digital, through their artmaking.
We are very privileged to have a large Darkroom in our department, which enables students to go back to basics through traditional processes. Darkroom photography uses film and SLR cameras. Students use black and white film to capture images on manual SLR cameras. The film is developed at school and the process of creating enlargements of the images then takes place in the darkroom.
Recently we were generously gifted a Minolta camera with lenses and attachments from a member of the community who wanted to see it used. We are so incredibly appreciative as these cameras are very hard to come by in the digital world of modern living.
Thank you to Val Oreton for the kind contribution to our department.
