This week Carroll College celebrated NAIDOC Week. Students participated in various activities linked to this year’s theme, Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! The whole school NAIDOC service included a smoking ceremony and cleansing. It invited the school community to walk together into the future, and show up for their classmates, friends and teammates. 

Indigenous students also had the opportunity to take part in painting workshops with our new Aboriginal Education Worker, Aunty Loretta Parsley, creating some fabulous artworks.

We would like to thank all of our Indigenous students for their enthusiasm and commitment to producing this year’s NAIDOC service. You are a credit to our school and community. 

We would like to welcome Aunty Loretta to the team and look forward to her supporting our students and staff each Wednesday and Thursday. Our students are also fortunate to have Patricia Ellis with us Tuesdays delivering Dhurga Langauge classes.
