RE Matters!
On Wednesday our Year 12 students began their Senior Retreat. This is always an anticipated event and students look forward to this opportunity to refocus at the start of their final year of secondary education.
Students and staff travelled to beautiful Jindabyne for the three day retreat. We have been staying at the Alpine Adventist Centre which is a spectacular venue. Yesterday we took the Snow Gums chairlift and then walked to the Mount Kosciusko lookout. At times we walked through falling snow and bitterly cold winds which made for an eventful journey.
The retreat program is centred around this journey “into the hill country” and draws on the story of Mary visiting Elizabeth towards the start of her pregnancy. Our students too are on an unknown journey, but our aim is to ensure they realise that they have an enormous amount of help and support along the way.
The retreat concludes today. The students have had a wonderful time relaxing, sharing viewpoints including hopes and dreams for the future and making life-long memories.
Thank you to Mrs Belle Barling for her meticulous planning and preparation of the retreat. Thank you too to the staff who gave up their time to attend the retreat and run small groups and deliver sessions: Mr Jeremy Harding, Mrs Jacqui Heffernan, Miss Lauren Herbert, Mr Paul Hill, Mrs Louise Ibbett, Mrs Anna Smart.
