Year 10

Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn has partnered with the Australian Catholic University (ACU) to provide access to the Step Up Into Teaching (SUIT) initiative, (please see attachment) available to the 2021 Year 10 student cohort. SUIT will provide students, in particular those interested in pursuing an education degree, with the opportunity to study two units from a Bachelor of Education degree while in Year 11.

Students who successfully pass the two units will receive an unconditional offer into any of ACU's undergraduate education degrees and then will have a 2-unit lightened load in their first year of university study (having already completed two units).

At this stage, ACU is seeking expressions of interest from CECG Year 10 students who would be interested in participating in SUIT. If you would like to start your university degree as a Year 11 student, please see Ms Gill to register for this opportunity by Monday 29 November 2021. ACU is seeking student preference to location: ACU Canberra, Country University Centre Goulburn or fully online and the cost of the units is still to be determined by the university.

School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships - Application Closing Date Reminder
Year 10 students wishing to start a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship in their Year 11 year must have their applications returned to the college by Week 5 Term 1. The earlier the application the earlier the training plan can be created and therefore a start can be made in the new year. This application must include their employer details and the Registered Training Organisation they are undertaking their NESA approved course with. A student cannot apply after this time as there is not enough time to meet this pathway's requirements across Years 11 and 12.
