Hospitality News
Our Year 12 Hospitality students have been busy finishing their last tasks and training packages for this term. Students had to complete a cooking training assessment at home.
Meg Phillips taught her dad Darren and partner Nellie how to make pork dumplings. It was great to see the video that Meg put together “Training” them. There was extra washing of hands, kitchen terms such as “Mise en place”, Brunoise and towels under chopping boards so they stayed in place on the bench. The recipe was such a hit with the family I have attached the recipe link for you to cook in the holidays. We also cooked this recipe with Year 11 Hospitality students today.

Year 11 have been cooking up a storm making their Lemon Meringue pies for their families.
Charlize Cramer taught her family to make a lemon meringue pie which by the evidence shown looked fantastic. The recipe is attached and is very easy to make.
It was lovely seeing some of the Year 11’s coming into our Teams meeting to cook, a picture of Takiya Norris' lemon meringue pie that she kindly made for her elderly Aunt is below.
Mrs Kenna and I wish you all a lovely school holiday break. It may not be quite the same as normal with restrictions still in place but a well-earned break for our students. We hope you all get out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather and watch the whales migrating.
Regards Mrs Kenna and Ms Garland
