Principal's Letter

Dear Parents, Students and Friends

Staff prayer this week focused on the theme of Adversity. A very appropriate theme during these difficult times. What spoke to me in particular, was this little graphic. How true it is that our experiences, good or bad, all contribute to forming the people we are. Wisdom can’t be achieved in any other way than through our experiences. Looking at the positives, this pandemic is teaching our children a lot about being resilient, having gratitude, the value of community, empathy, perseverance, and the fragility of humanity. We’re all in this together and I’m proud to say that our Carroll team have been extraordinary in their care and support of our families. I thank you for thanking them! Your emails of support and encouragement have been truly appreciated.

National Youth Science Forum 2021

makadde.jpg

Congratulations to Makadde Ethell of Year 11 for being accepted into the National Youth Science Forum.

Carroll College has a long association with the National Youth Science Forum and is grateful for sponsorship of our students by our local Rotary Clubs. It is wonderful that Makadde is continuing this association this year.

The National Youth Science Forum is an opportunity for young people who have a passion for Science to:

  • participate in tours of science and technology facilities
  • learn about cutting edge research
  • engage with industry partners and research providers
  • learn about university and STEM career pathways
  • mix with other like-minded students from all over Australia
  • network with former NYSF participants to further increase understanding of STEM-related study and career experiences.

Being accepted into the NYSF is very prestigious. Makadde has been offered this opportunity against thousands of applicants and after being interviewed by the NYSF organisers.

An exceptional achievement. Congratulations, Makadde!
