Study Timetable

The Study Timetable is designed to ensure you are using your time effectively.

The idea behind it is that you book in regular times to do your homework AND your study. Print off the two-week timetable (the third week is for our seniors as they approach their major exams).

In the first row, copy down the subjects you have at school that day. You will probably have some homework to complete in these subjects.

Then block out all the known disruptions where you cannot complete homework and study. This includes things like your sports training, work shifts, dinner and your bedtime. It is very important that you have a balanced life of some study and schoolwork and some relaxation activities.

The remaining times are when you can complete your homework and do some study for your exams. You MUST include study time, not just homework and assessment task completion. The more often you revisit a concept, the more of it you will remember, so make revision notes of what you did in class today, hand draw and label diagrams, make dot point summaries, etc. Next time you study this topic, go over these notes, see what you can remember, see if you can summarise your summaries.

If you do this for all your subjects every day you will be building your knowledge and your exam study will be a breeze.

Remember you must plan for success, and if you develop and follow a study timetable like this, you are setting yourself up for academic success.

Good luck with it and if you want any further help please speak to one of your teachers or myself.
